What changes between industries

The pipe looks the same across most of these markets. What changes is everything around it. A water utility cares about hygienic certification and leakage targets. A water utility cares about batch traceability and witnessed testing, and will audit the supply chain before approving a vendor. A mine cares about wall thickness and how easily a worn section can be rotated. Same PE100, three different specifications and three different document packs.

That is why enquiries are quoted against the application rather than a part number. Tell us the duty — what is flowing through it, at what pressure and temperature, buried or exposed, and which standard the project is written to — and the diameter, SDR, grade and certification follow from it.

  • Potable water: hygienic documentation and blue striping or solid blue
  • Mining and slurry: thicker wall, abrasion allowance and flanged joints
  • Mining and industrial: heavy wall, flanged spools, rotatable sections
  • Marine: buoyancy calculations, floaters and ballast supplied as a system
  • Agriculture: coil packing planned around container volume, not pipe length

Almost certainly. These pages cover the markets we ship to most, not the limit of what HDPE does. Send the duty — medium, pressure, temperature, buried or exposed — and we will tell you whether HDPE is the right material and what grade and wall thickness it needs. If it is the wrong material for the job we will say so.
Can one order cover several applications on the same site?
Yes, and it usually should. Mixing pressure and drainage pipe in one production run and one container is cheaper per metre than three separate orders, as long as the striping and marking for each are agreed up front. We plan the loading before production starts.
Do you provide references in our industry?
For established enquiries, yes — we can provide contactable references in your region and, where the customer permits it, project documentation showing exactly what was specified and supplied. Field reports covering similar duties are published in our resources section.
